Because there are children like Henry
It’s hard to believe that at 10 months-old, Henry had already undergone more surgeries than most people experience in their entire lifetime. Henry was born with a heart malformation that prevented the normal blood flow he needed to live. For nearly a third of his short life, he has been cared for by the pediatric cardiovascular team at MCG Children’s Medical Center. Recently, Henry successfully underwent his third surgery to replace the aortic valve in his tiny, strawberry-sized heart. Thanks to the expert care he has received, Henry celebrated his first birthday – at home.
