| The MCG Voice and Swallowing Center has experts in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery, gastroenterology, neurology, pulmonary care and speech-language pathology. The collaboration optimizes treatment of voice, swallowing and airway problems.
Gregory N. Postma, M.D., is the director of the MCG Voice and Swallowing Center, a service of the Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Postma’s clinical interests include voice disorders, professional and singing voice care, swallowing disorders, airway surgery and reconstruction, gastroesophageal and xtraesophageal reflux, and chronic cough. He is a pioneer of in-office surgery.
Lori M. Burkhead, PhD, CCC-SLP, is the lead speech-language pathologist for the MCG Voice and Swallowing Center and Assistant Professor in Otolaryngology. Her research interests include the application of exercise and sports training principles in the rehabilitation of swallowing muscles. Her clinical interests include dysphagia rehabilitation due to a variety of etiologies, especially critically ill patients with respiratory compromise.
