Augusta, GA - Vaccine safety is just one of the topics to be discussed by health care professionals on November 15, 2001 at a workshop co-sponsored by the Medical College of Georgia Children's Medical Center, the Centers for Disease Control and the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. A morning workshop, held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. will be repeated in the afternoon, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The workshop will be held at the Medical College of Georgia Children's Medical Center. Admission is free, but advanced registration is required.

Pediatric physicians and family medicine physicians and their staffs, health department staffs and school nurses are expected to attend. Attendees will come from Richmond, Columbia, Burke, Taliaferro, McDuffie, Glascock, Jenkins, Lincoln, Wilkes, Toliver, Warren, Jefferson, Washington and Screven Counties in Georgia, and Aiken and Edgefield Counties in South Carolina. Attendees will earn Continuing Medical Education credits and Continuing Education Units.

Physicians and the staff of local and national immunization organizations will serve as workshop presenters.
