HOTLINE PROVIDES ANSWERS TO HEALTH QUESTIONS

Augusta, Ga. -- Sports medicine, eye care and pediatrics are just some of the topics doctors will address during a Health Hotline, offered on November 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. MCG Health System and The Augusta Chronicle are sponsoring the event.

Members of the public can dial in to have their health questions answered. See the special section in The Augusta Chronicle's Sunday, November 17 edition for phone numbers and more details.

Some of the featured physicians and topics will include:

  • Dr. Joel Brenner, Sports Medicine. Running, musculoskeletal injuries, sports rehabilitation and the female athlete.
  • Dr. David Bogorad, Ophthalmology. Refractive surgery/laser vision correction (LASIK), cataract and lens implant surgery, corneal surgery and disease and general ophthalmology.
  • Dr. Karen Carter, Pediatric Behavior. ADHD, and behavior, sleep, school and learning problems.
  • Dr. David Terris, Otolaryngology (head and neck surgery). Thyroid surgery, parathyroid surgery, salivary gland surgery, neck lumps and endoscopic (minimally invasive) neck surgery.
  • Dr. Adelina Emmi, Obstetrics/Gynecology. Infertility and assisted reproduction, abnormal menstrual cycles, abnormal hair growth, early and late female sexual development, and menopause.
  • Dr. Timothy Young, Joint Replacement. Treatment of arthritis in the knee and hip, non-operative treatment (medications, injections, therapy, bracing) and general anesthesia.
  • Dr. Martha Terris, Urology. Prostate cancer (risk factors, diagnosis, surgical treatment, seed implants, hormone treatment, nutritional therapies) and bladder cancer (risk factors, surgical treatments).
