SESSIONS OFFER TOOLS FOR COPING WITH CANCER

Augusta, Ga. -- MCG Health System, along with other local hospitals, will partner with the American Cancer Society to offer I Can Cope, a series of educational sessions designed to help those diagnosed with cancer, their families and friends.

The four-week series meets on Tuesday nights at Warren Baptist Church on 3202 Washington Rd., beginning on April 1 (class dates are April 1, 15, 22, 29). Each two-hour session begins at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments and childcare are provided.

Participants are urged to attend all four sessions to complete the series.
Topics for the four sessions are:

  • Learning about cancer and cancer treatment
  • Keeping well in mind and body
  • Understanding feelings and relationships
  • Discovering resources and celebrating life

The series is free and open to the public, but registration is encouraged. To register or for more information, call the American Cancer Society at 706-731-9900.

Dates for future sessions include: July 8, 15, 22, 29 and October 7, 14, 21, 28.
