BOAT WASH TO BENEFIT MCG CHILDREN'S MEDICAL CENTER

Augusta, Ga. -- The West Marine Store (592 Bobby Jones Expressway) will host a boat washing and detailing fund-raiser for the Medical College of Georgia Children's Medical Center on April 5 and 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Watercraft owners are invited to come bring their boats for washing and detailing. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Children's Medical Center's Wee Can Ski program, which offers children who have physical or medical challenges an exciting opportunity to waterski during an annual day of fun every summer. The store's goal is to raise $5,000 for the program.

Those interested in attending the boat wash are asked to make a time and date reservation by calling 706-650-1939. Costs for the boat wash and detailing will run between $5 and $60, depending on the condition of the boat. Those interested in volunteering to help out with the boat wash should call for further information.

Volunteers are also needed to assist during the Wee Can Ski event on May 31 at Clark's Hill Lake from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. To sign up, contact the MCG Family Services Development Office at 706-721-3596.
