Phillips Elected Chair of the House of Delegates for American Society of Health-System Pharmacists

Augusta, Ga. -- Marjorie Shaw Phillips, Clinical Research/Quality Improvement Pharmacist at MCG Health System, was recently elected the Chair of the House of Delegates for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). This announcement was made during the 55th annual session of the House of Delegates in San Diego, Calif. on June 3. Phillips will also serve on the society's 14-member national Board of Directors.

Phillips has been a pharmacist at MCG Health System since 1990. She is the Medication Safety and Quality Improvement Pharmacist, Clinical Research Pharmacist, Coordinator for MCGHI's Pharmacy Practice Residency program and Vice-Chair of the MCG Human Assurance Committee/Institutional Review Board. She is also an Adjunct Associate Professor of Pharmacy for the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and PharmD clinical rotation preceptor.

ASHP is the 30,000-member national professional association that represents pharmacists who practice in hospitals, health maintenance organizations, ambulatory care clinics, long-term care facilities, home care and other components of health care systems.
