MCG Health System Presents Free Osteoporosis Awareness Program

Augusta, Ga. -- MCG Health System presents a free osteoporosis awareness program every Saturday morning from September 13 to November 1 for women 40 and older who have the disease or are at risk for osteoporosis. The program will meet from 10 to 11 a.m., except for September 13 and November 1 when the program will meet from 10 a.m. to noon, at the MCG Sports Medicine Center at 937 15th St.

Participants will learn how to prevent and/or manage osteoporosis. Staff from the MCG Sports Medicine Center will make assessments of bone density, risk of falling, balance, strength and function, help participants develop a personalized exercise program to improve these assessments and provide education to help prevent the progression of the disease.
