MCG HEALTH SYSTEM TO OFFER FREE EPILEPSY SYMPOSIUMNovember 1, 2004Augusta, GA MCG Health System will offer a free epilepsy symposium to advise families, patients, physicians and nurses on the latest medical treatments and surgical advances in epilepsy.

“Current Medical and Surgical Options in Epilepsy” will take place on Saturday, November 20, at the Belair Conference Center, 4083 Belair Rd., Evans. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with registration at 8:30 a.m. Light refreshments will be served.

Topics offered at the symposium include:

  • Seizure Classification with Dr. Jeffrey Politsky, epileptologist
  • Updates in the Pharmacologic Treatment of Epilepsy with Dr. Anthony Murro, epileptologist
  • Updates in the Surgical Treatment of Epilepsy with Dr. Joseph Smith, neurosurgeon

Concurrent sessions for families/patients and physicians/nurses will be held. Physicians and nurses who attend the symposium can earn CMEs and CEUs.
