Dr. Janaki Nadarajah, DPM has opened a Podiatry Clinic for diabetic patients and others with foot problems. The clinic meets on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Ambulatory Care Center inside of Orthopedics.

Dr. Nadarajah, an orthopedic surgeon, offers a comprehensive foot care program that includes early identification of the high-risk diabetic foot, early diagnosis of foot problems, early intervention to prevent further deterioration that may lead to amputation, patient education for proper care of the foot and footwear, wound management and regeneration services, and surgical removal of soft tissue sarcomas.

“Foot disease is the most common complication of diabetes leading to hospitalization. The risk for Type 2 diabetes increases with age. Approximately 18.3 percent or 8.6 million Americans age 60 and older have diabetes,” said Dr. Nadarajah.
