MCG Health System’s Breast Health Services has passed its annual Mammography Quality Standards Act inspection.

“Our goal is to provide women with the highest-quality care in a comfortable, welcoming environment,” said Dr. James Rawson, Chief of Radiology, MCG Health System. “The result of this annual inspection further underscores our success.”

The Food and Drug Administration is responsible for implementing and enforcing the Mammography Quality Standards Act, which requires that all mammography facilities in the United States meet certain stringent quality standards, are accredited by an FDA-approved accreditation body and have annual inspections. The Act sets standards for equipment, imaging, physician and technologist expertise, and patient care.
