22nd Annual CMN Celebration Airs June 2 and 3May 17, 2007Augusta, Ga.

Several CSRA families will be featured on this year’s local Children’s Miracle Network Celebration, on Saturday, June 2 from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. and on Sunday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The broadcast is live from the lobby of the MCG Children’s Medical Center and will air on NBC Augusta.

The annual event celebrates pledges raised by sponsors and donors to benefit programs and services at the MCG Children’s Medical Center. Along with miracle stories featuring local families, the broadcast will also include video tours of the MCG Children’s Medical Center, special interviews with patients, faculty and staff, recognition of committed sponsors and more.

This year’s broadcast also marks Wal-Mart’s 20th anniversary as a national sponsor of the Children’s Miracle Network. In addition to selling and displaying the $1 Children’s Miracle Network balloons in its 4,000-plus locations nationwide, the 1.3 million associates of the company have also held special fund-raising events to raise more than $387 million since 1987.

“Where do you go when your child needs occupational therapy for an autism-related disorder, cancer treatment, emergency surgery or multiple other services?” said Connie Guinn, Director of the Children’s Miracle Network at the MCG Children’s Medical Center. “The answer is simple: You go to a place that specializes in care for children. At the MCG Children’s Medical Center, that’s all we do. We encourage the community to watch the local broadcast, learn more about the hospital that’s right here in their own backyard, and help us continue to do what we do best - care for children.”

The MCG Children’s Medical Center has been a beneficiary of the Children’s Miracle Network since 1986.
