Access Life-saving Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplants
MCGHealth is one of only a few hospitals in Georgia to perform bone marrow and stem cell transplants on adult patients whose bone marrow has been damaged by leukemia or other blood cancers or high-dose chemotherapy or radiation.
These life-saving alternatives include both autologous transplants, in which stem cells are removed from the patient before they have chemotherapy or radiation, and allogeneic transplants, in which stem cells are collected from a matched relative or other donor.
The caregivers who operate the program deliver comprehensive Patient Family Centered Care and offer access to clinical trials, including Phase 1 Trials not available at other area hospitals.
