Children's Champions

AdamBecause there are children like Adam
When you listen to Adam play piano or watch him win the school-wide Spelling Bee, the braces on his legs are not noticeable.  In fact, after talking with this bright 11-year old for just a few minutes, you forget that he was born with the less serious form of spina bifida, a closed-neural tube defect.  Although his birth defect could have been much worse, Adam has endured four surgeries in his short life.  But thanks to the pediatric orthopaedic surgeons at MCG Children’s Medical Center, Adam hopes to have only one more surgery before he stops growing.  Today, those braces don’t stop Adam from doing the things he loves, such as running, riding his bike or hitting a golf ball.

Because of Adam, and the many other children born needing medical attention, MCG Children’s Medical Center delivers comprehensive pediatric orthopaedic services.  We are here to help children of all ages get a healthy start on life.
