Children's Champions

Mason

Because there are children like Mason.

As a pediatric registered nurse, Mason’s mom was hesitant to fully explore his language delays. She knows first-hand the risk of “labeling” a child inappropriately. Instead, she chalked up his slow speech development to continuous ear infections. But when Mason turned three and was still not talking, he was diagnosed as autistic and began the speech and occupation therapy programs at MCG Children’s Medical Center. Now under the careful eyes of the therapy professionals, Mason is developing new skills each week. Most importantly, his mom realizes that, thanks to the care and support of Mason’s therapists, there are many things worse to be born with than autism.

Because of Mason, and the many other children born with special needs, MCG Children’s Medical Center provides world-class pediatric rehabilitation services.   We are here to help children of all ages get a healthy start on life.
