Children's Champions

WillBecause there are children like Will
At first, it appeared that Will was just experiencing typical stomachaches. But as he got older, it was clear that the problem was much more serious. When Will was eight years old, doctors at MCG Children’s Medical Center diagnosed him with severe intestinal blockage. To relieve his pain and to prevent his body from sustaining irreparable damage, MCG pediatric surgeons performed a complex gastrointestinal surgery that involved untwisting Will’s intestines. Just a few weeks after the surgery, Will was able to go on vacation with his family. Today, he is a healthy teenager who enjoys playing in his school band and looks forward to attending college in a few years.

Because of Will, and the many other children in need of specialized surgeries, MCG Children’s Medical Center provides the region’s most comprehensive pediatric surgical services. We are here to help children of all ages get a healthy start on life.
