The clinical faculty of the Department of Family Medicine provides comprehensive and continuing primary care services to individuals and families. In addition to the evaluation and management of frequently occurring acute and chronic illnesses and injuries, the department emphasizes health maintenance and disease prevention supported by an array of patient education programs. These clinical services are provided in the Family Medicine Center and the Family Medicine Inpatient Service of MCG Health System. There is an ongoing program emphasis in geriatrics, chronic disease management, pharmacotherapeutics, wellness, sports medicine, student health, and family medicine obstetrical care.
