In 2001, the MCGHealth Neuroscience Center joined forces with Walton Rehabilitation Hospital to form the Augusta Multiple Sclerosis Center. The centers mission is to improve the quality of life for people with MS through accurate and early diagnosis, disease modulation and aggressive symptom management.
Patients and health care professionals benefit from the centers aggressive approach to MS. Referring physicians have easy access to the centers rehabilitative, medical care and support services as well as the ability to take advantage of the latest treatments and diagnostic techniques. Whether a second opinion, an initial diagnosis, assistance with locating housing options or an entire gamut of care is needed, the center works with physicians to fulfill requests.
A person with MS no longer has to worry about going through more than one organization to receive complete care for their unique needs. Medical care, rehabilitation, clinics and support groups are all available at the Augusta Multiple Sclerosis Center.
