Because there are children like Asia
Asia is a “miracle” child to more than just her mother. Unexpectedly born at home, Asia weighed little more than one pound when she arrived at the MCG Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Because she was so small and born so early, doctors had little hope she would survive. At MCG Children’s Medical Center, Asia remarkably endured as she received the highest level of neonatal intensive care to help her breathe, resist infection and gain much-needed weight. After six long months, the four-pound “miracle” baby was strong enough to go home. Today, Asia is a healthy seven year-old who loves to laugh and is excelling in school.
Because of Asia, and the many other children born needing immediate medical attention, MCG Children’s Medical Center delivers the highest level of neonatal intensive care. We are here to help children of all ages get a healthy start on life.
