Our Philosophy:
The physical therapy staff at MCGHealth Sports Medicine Center is committed to providing the highest caliber of rehabilitative services available and to achieving excellent treatment outcomes. Our staff is trained to evaluate and treat a wide variety of injuries, from simple sprains and strains to complex reconstructive surgery. We are committed to upholding the three part mission of patient care, education and research at MCGHealth.

Services:
The evaluation consists of examining an individual’s muscle strength, sensation, joint mobility, flexibility, posture and ability to move. A rehabilitation program is then developed from the results of the initial evaluation. Each program is unique and specifically designed to meet the individual’s needs. Rehabilitation programs consist of therapeutic exercises, modalities to relieve pain and inflammation, and guidelines for progressive return to pre-injury levels. The entire rehabilitation process is supervised by a licensed physical therapist.

Our Facility:
Our facility was constructed in 1999. The rehabilitation section occupies the front half of the building and consists of a large gymnasium that is utilized as an open treatment area. The gym is equipped with modern strengthening and conditioning equipment as well as various items used specifically in rehabilitation. These include devices designed for retraining balance, reaction time and mobility. We also have multiple semiprivate areas and several private exam rooms used for evaluation and treatment. In addition we have a hydrotherapy area and an area for fabrication of splints and orthotics
