Inpatient Child and Adolescent Evaluation and Treatment Program
|
MCGHealth Inpatient Child and Adolescent Evaluation and Treatment Program offers in-depth psychiatric evaluation and treatment planning for children ages four to 17 and occasionally younger, with severe behavioral or psychiatric problems. The program features an interdisciplinary team and treatment approach, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, a recreational therapist, a special needs teacher, and psychiatric nurses and technicians. The staff maintains ongoing consultation with the child’s school to ensure that educational programs are continued throughout assessment and treatment. Our clinical staff, which includes licensed social workers and psychologists, provides family assessment, consultation and therapy, parent management training, group therapy, and milleu therapy among other modalities. Following discharge referring physicians are provided with diagnostic assessments and treatment recommendations. Child and Adolescent Services
