MCGHealth makes a significant impact on the local economy -- $941.1 million in fiscal year 2007.  According to a report issued by the Georgia Hospital Association based on 2004 data, MCGHealth also sustained about 7,000 full-time jobs, accounting for a third of jobs created by all local hospitals combined.

We also volunteer in our community and contribute to its health, education and well being by supporting community organizations.  Over the past year alone, our employees participated in activities to support more than 40 local charitable programs and agencies, including the United Way of the CSRA, American Cancer Society and American Heart Association.

As the patient care provider on the Medical College of Georgia campus, the hospitals and clinics provide the opportunity for hundreds of residents to hone their patient care skills.  We also help fund the education of numerous students.
